There was no changes in the state’s top-ranked high school football teams heading into Week 9 of the 2024 Alabama season. The No. 1 teams in the Alabama High School Athletic Association and in the Alabama Independent School Association remained the same this week in the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association rankings.

It's Week 9 of the Iowa high school football season, with Class 4A No. 10 Gilbert (7-1, 2-1) going on the road to face No. 3 Pella (8-0, 3-0) to try and earn a share of the 4A District 4 title on Friday and Roland-Story and Collins-Maxwell both beginning playoff competition.

The ASWA prep committee's primary responsibilities include conducting regular top-10 rankings of a variety of high school sports, and select all-state teams in those sports as well. The committee will determine the winner of a variety of annual awards including the annual Mr. Football winner, and the Jimmy Smothers Courage Award.

The Alabama high school football season is rolling into Week 7 and all but one area team is in action. The headlining game is one between Fyffe and Geraldine to decide the Class 3A, Region 8 title race.
