Titleist debuts new Pro V1, Pro V1x in Las Vegas on anniversary
Titleist is introducing the 2025 version of the Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls this week at the Shriners Children’s Open in Las Vegas, and it’s a special occasion. This is the 25th year since Titleist unveiled a golf ball that reshaped the professional game.

TPC Summerlin is where Titleist’s original Pro V1 prototypes were introduced to PGA Tour players. Billy Andrade won that event after being one of 47 players who put the ball in play that week, marking a seismic shift toward multilayer, urethane-covered golf balls.

The Pro V1 was introduced in October 2000 at the PGA Tour’s Invensys Classic in Las Vegas, but Titleist had been developing the ball for about five years, trying to blend the short-game spin and control of wound balata-covered balls with the distance of two-piece, solid-core balls.
