A heavily strapped Rishabh Pant came out to bat on Day 4 of the Bengaluru Test match on Saturday, October 19. Pant had not taken the field on Day 3 after getting hit on the knee with the ball.

Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant, who took a blow on his knee, was seen doing some light batting practice on Friday. Pant did not keep wickets for India, but will bat if required in the second innings.

Rishabh Pant went off the field after getting hit on the right knee while keeping wicket on the second day of the first Test against New Zealand. India captain Rohit Sharma said there was some swelling and the team didn't want to take any risks given Pant had recovered from serious knee injuries sustained during a car crash in December 2022.

Rishabh Pant was unable to take the field and keep wickets on Day 3 of the first Test against New Zealand due to swelling on his right knee, the same one he had surgery on following a car crash. Dhruv Jurel took his place as a precautionary measure.
