On Aug. 4, Springfield Police responded to a house in the 1800 block of 11th Street in regards to a shots fired call. Once on scene the police located Dayquan Wiley in a bedroom at the residence suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transferred to St. John's Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

One of the three people charged with murder for a 2022 shooting has been sentenced to 20 years in prison, court documents say.
