TBI confirms fatal police shooting of knife wielding man in Chattanooga on Christmas Eve
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) says they are investigating after Chattanooga Police officers fired shots at a man who was holding a knife on East Brainerd Road. The incident started by the Waffle House and ended near the Red Owl Coffee company.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has been called in to investigate an incident on Tuesday when Chattanooga Police fatally shot a man they said was wielding a knife. The TBI said at approximately 12:18 p.m., officers with the Chattanooga Police Department responded to a report of a man armed with a knife in the 7800 block of East Brainerd Road.

Chattanooga police officers shot a person on East Brainerd Road on Tuesday, according to officials. Officers responded to reports of someone threatening people with a knife at a restaurant in the 7700 block of East Brainerd Road at 12:18 p.m., police spokesperson Sgt. Victor Miller said by phone.
