The View Askewniverse director revealed that his 1999 religious satire is returning to theaters and getting a new home release after another company purchased the distribution rights from Harvey Weinstein‘s Miramax.

While appearing on That Hashtag Show, Smith spoke out about his underrated cult classic Dogma, the 1999 movie he made starring Ben Affleck and Matt Damon as two fallen angels trying to utilize a loophole to get back into heaven — even though it could potentially destroy all of creation.

Dogma will return. Kevin Smith's movie will again be available through a re-release. On the occasion of this announcement, the director revealed that he has big plans for this title.

Dogma has been out-of-print since 2008 and you won’t find it on any streaming or digital platform after its rights were tangled up with the Weinsteins. That’s soon about to change.
