Americans are voting every day, either early at a polling place or by mail. When CNN reports the number of early ballots returned or requested, the data is coming from a company called Catalist.

Early voting records in the Greater New Orleans area have been shattered as voters show in large numbers to cast their ballots in the U.S. presidential primary election.

As of Thursday, Ada County voters had cast about 9,000 early ballots, compared with about 5,300 at the same time in the 2020 election, Tripple said during a media briefing at the Ada County Elections Office.
