According to the Durham Police Department, officers responded at around 11:48 p.m. to a report of a gunshot wound on the 900 block of Fayetteville Street. When officers arrived on scene, they found a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. A short time later, the victim was pronounced dead. She was later identified as 34-year-old Chaquila Little.

It happened around 11:48 p.m. in the 900 block of Fayetteville Street. ABC11, The News & Observer’s newsgathering partner, said the woman was shot outside Jack’s In and Out Mart, which is across the street from the Phoenix Square shopping center and just south of the Durham Freeway.
