The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released new data on the most and least sanitary cruise ships of 2024. Ten cruise ships received scores of 89 or lower; a score of 85 or below is considered “not satisfactory.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has released a report on the cleanliness of ships across multiple well-known cruise lines. The report — issued via the CDC’s Vessel Sanitation Program (VSP) — noted that the inspection system marks anything at or below a score of 85 as unsatisfactory.

The CDC’s Timothy M. Uyeki, M.D, however, cautioned that if the virus changes, and especially if it begins to infect pigs, that would be a game changer, allowing the virus to mutate to one that is more of a threat to people.
