Prabowo Subianto was inaugurated Sunday as the eighth president of the world’s most populous Muslim-majority nation, completing his journey from an ex-general accused of rights abuses during the dark days of Indonesia’s military dictatorship to the presidential palace.

In succeeding Joko Widodo to the presidency, Prabowo is expected to take a more hands-on and personal approach to major policy areas.

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto unveiled a cabinet of 53 ministers and heads of ministerial level agencies ministers late Sunday evening, about 11 hours after being sworn in as the new president, along with his running mate Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
