The Call of Duty series looks set to take players back to the future in 2025 with a Black Ops 2 sequel set in the early 2030s. Fans were alerted to leaked information about next year’s unannounced Call of Duty game after details allegedly revealed in a focus group meeting hit social media.

Although it is possible to make for good shield gameplay, judging by the public reaction, most of the future Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 player base is happy to leave those to the cops. It is time for real secret agent warfare. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be released on October 25 for PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, and PC.

Players who already have Call of Duty installed will receive the Black Ops 6 preload as an automatic update to their existing install, which is similar to previous Call of Duty updates. Activision warns that the download will be larger for these players, as they're getting the new UI and Black Ops 6 at the same time.
