Bloomfield police said in a news release Friday evening they and firefighters responded to a call of smoke coming out of the residence at approximately 2:30 p.m., and found the fire was contained to an upstairs bathroom. A man was found dead after a fire at a home in Bloomfield on Friday afternoon. Bloomfield dispatch received a call of smoke coming out of the windows at a residence on Ivory Way around 2:30 p.m. on Friday, according to the Bloomfield Police Department.

The victim of a house fire in Bloomfield Friday has been identified. Bloomfield police said they are investigating the circumstances of a fire in a home on Ivory Road which left Howard Hakian, 66, of Bloomfield dead.
